Sara Ali Khan Was Overjoyed On Hearing Kareena Kapoor's Name As Her Stepmother, 'Say That Again...'

Daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan etched a permanent place in everyone’s heart with her debut film, Kedarnath. From her bindaas attitude to her uncanny resemblance to her mom, Amrita Singh, Sara often grabs the limelight. Saif and Amrita parted ways when Sara was quite young, and Amrita single-handedly raised her children, Sara and Ibrahim.

However, unlike the typical stepmother-stepdaughter, Sara shares an exceptional bond with her stepmom, Kareena Kapoor Khan. In fact, she has been a die-hard fan of Kareena Kapoor since childhood, so much so that she believes her strong admiration for her was the reason she got Kareena in her life.

It was Kareena’s character of ‘Poo’ from the film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which had awestruck Sara. Earlier, in an interview, when Sara was asked how it is to have ‘Poo’ as her stepmom, Sara couldn’t hide her happiness and excitement and said:

“Can you imagine! Say that again! Yaa!! I do. People tell me you’ve willed this to happen. You have been such a die hard Kareena fan that you have willed her into your life and this is what you get.”

It was in 1991 when Saif Ali Khan got married to Amrita Singh. But after 13 years of blissful married life and two kids, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Khan, the couple separated in 2004. Saif later went on to marry his Tashan co-star, Kareena Kapoor on October 16, 2012, after dating her for five years. Since then, Kareena has shared a cordial relationship with Sara and Ibrahim, and we have time and again seen their bond through pictures or their statements in interviews.

Sara Ali Khan’s mother, Amrita Singh got her ready for her father, Saif Ali Khan’s second wedding

Do you know that Saif Ali Khan’s children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, were part of Saif’s second wedding with Kareena? More than Saif and Kareena’s star-studded wedding, it was the presence of Sara and Ibrahim, which became the talk of the town. For her abba’s wedding, Sara looked radiant in a yellow-coloured lehenga, which she accentuated with a maang teeka, chandbaalis and bangles.

In an interview with the Hello! magazine, Sara Ali Khan revealed her mother, Amrita Singh’s reaction to her ex-husband, Saif Ali Khan’s second wedding. Talking about the same, Sara remarked that it was her mother, Amrita, who got her ready for Saif and Kareena’s wedding. In her words:

“When my father just got married to Kareena, I remember going to the locker with my mother and taking out jewellery and saying which jhumkas should I wear? She called Abu and Sandeep and said, ‘Saif is getting married and I want Sara to have the most beautiful lehenga.’ It’s also easy for me to love and accept Kareena because I have a mom, who makes me feel everything’s fine. She got me ready for my father’s wedding with Kareena. So, when you have a mother saying, ‘Yeh earrings mat peheno, doosri chandbali peheno’ and if that’s the vibe at home, then you’re comfortable enough to take anything on.”

After Saif and Kareena’s wedding, the couple had a Mughal-themed Delhi reception and it had spoken volumes about Sara’s bond with her father’s second wife. In one of the pictures from the wedding reception, Sara Sara and Kareena can be seen hugging and posing for the camera looking gorgeous in their respective traditional attires. Sara looked alluring in a neon green and pink anarkali, which she had accentuated with a maang teeka, diamond set and bangles.
