Reddit user claims Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek headed for splitsville

Rumours of trouble in paradise for Bollywood’s power couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have been making the rounds for a long time now. Amid this, a Reddit user – BollyBlindsNGossip – has now added fuel to the ‘separation’ fire by claiming that s/he is privy to the real reason that has triggered the rumours in the first place. And according to this Reddit user, the couple has been facing some turbulence in their relationship. Naturally, the revelation on the social media thread left fans of both actors in utter shock. The user, in the Reddit thread, also claimed that the duo have been separated, and have not been cohabitating for a while.  Furthermore, the user also claimed that Abhishek cheated on his better half with one of his co-stars during a shoot.

The claims made by the Reddit user are not completely novel. Gossip mills, for a while, have been rife with rumours about the marital status of the couple, something that has been sparked by their solo appearances at a few social events. Recently when Aishwarya won the SIIMA award for her role as Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2, she was only accompanied by her daughter whom she thanked in her winning speech, while skipping any mention of Abhishek or the Bachchans. It is said that Aish and her daughter Aaradhya have been living with Aish’s mother Brindya Rai who is often spotted with the Devdas actress at public events.

Earlier in May when Aish celebrated her mother’s birthday with only Aaradhya, sans Abhishek Bachchan, further cemented the separation rumours, making many fans believe it could be true.

On Tuesday, @PitchAndPopcorn, a verified handle on X (that was formerly known as Twitter) whose bio reads “Scoop on Bollywood drama & sports thrillers! Follow for top film gossip & game highlights,” claimed that the former Miss World is facing some health issues as well due to which she is finding it tough to lose weight.

The post claims that the differences between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan cropped up long ago but the final nail in the coffin was “when he cheated on her” with a co-star. The thread, naturally, piqued curiosity among fans and critics – and the post garnered over 500 comments and 3.5K votes since it went live. From the couple’s financial status to their alleged separation due to the presence of others, users weighed in with their own interpretation.
