In a surprising turn of events, it has been reported that Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has officially gifted his famed bungalow, Pratiksha, to his daughter Shweta Bachchan. The property, which has been valued at a staggering ₹60 crore, now belongs solely to Shweta, as Big B recently completed all the legal formalities surrounding the transfer.

This move has not only raised eyebrows but also sparked further speculation about the dynamics within the Bachchan family. With Shweta becoming the sole owner of the luxurious bungalow, there has been a notable change in the family’s net worth. Reports indicate that Amitabh Bachchan’s net worth saw a ₹50 crore reduction following the transfer of Pratiksha. Despite this, the legendary actor continues to lead the family with a substantial wealth portfolio, alongside Shweta and her two children. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan’s financial standing remains unaffected by the transfer.

Shweta’s net worth, on the other hand, has experienced a significant surge, nearly doubling after acquiring Pratiksha. This development has fueled speculation about whether this might have been one of the reasons for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s rumored decision to leave the family home. Although Aishwarya’s net worth remains 59% higher than Amitabh’s, her absence from recent family events and celebrations has led to various theories about possible tension within the Bachchan household.

Amitabh Bachchan, who still holds an impressive net worth of ₹360 crore, may have seen a dip, but his annual income from projects like Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) and upcoming films ensures that he is set to regain his original financial position within the year. The property transfer was executed on November 8th and registered the following day. Under current Mumbai regulations, the transfer of a residential property as a gift to a daughter or son attracts a nominal stamp duty of ₹200 crore along with 1% Metro Sales tax per deed.

In a previous episode of KBC, Amitabh had shared that the name Pratiksha was given by his father, the celebrated poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Amitabh explained that his father wrote a poem about the bungalow, describing it as a place where all are welcome, but no one is bound to stay.
