No person in their right mind would ever deny that Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan are three of the most popular Indian superstars in the whole wide world. These individuals are not merely actors but institutions whose influence transcends borders and generations. The three megastars remain the most followed, revered, and talked-about celebrities, irrespective of how their motion pictures perform at the ticket windows. Needless to say, it’s been a dream for millions of their fans to catch them together on the big screen.

Indeed, if the casting is ever done, it would unquestionably be the most historic casting in Indian cinema history. Shah Rukh once discussed why getting the three Khans to share the screen would be nearly impossible.

The ‘Zero’ star once shared why he thought it would be challenging for the makers to bring the three Khans together for a full-fledged mainstream project. He had said, “Aap afford kar sako toh sign karo. Beta chaddi banyaan bik jaayengi teeno ko sign karte karte.”

The actor explained himself, adding, “It will be very difficult. Teen hero ko kahaani sunaao, teeno ko pasand aaye, yeh bohot difficult hoga. Yahaan toh ek ko pasand aa jaaye vahi bohot hai. Par aisi koi kahaani hogi jo teeno ko paaand aa jaaye aur koi afford kar sake, hum teeno ko jhel sakta hai toh theek hai.”

The unlikely but dreamy possibility

While there’s no questioning what Shah Rukh Khan confessed, it is also true that he’s shared the screen with Salman Khan in smash-hits like ‘Karan Arjun,’ ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,’ ‘Pathaan,’ and ‘Tiger 3.’ On the other hand, Salman has also shared the screen with Aamir Khan in the cult comedy ‘Andaz Apna Apna.’ However, SRK and the ‘Dangal’ star have yet to collaborate on a full-fledged project.

Sure, seeing these three heavyweights of the Indian film industry together in a tentpole feature seems highly unlikely today. But, there’s no denying that an ambitious, dreamy entertainer bringing the three Khans together would be a monumental celebration of their cinematic legacy, for they are equally popular and loved across the country and beyond.
