Vivek Oberoi is now happily married to Priyanka Alva, but there was a time when he made headlines for dating Aishwarya Rai. Their affair, which played out in the early 2000s, became a hot topic in the media, involving emotional turbulence, alleged threats, and industry repercussions. Although their romance was brief, it left a lasting impact on their careers and public personas.

For Vivek, being romantically linked to Aishwarya was a personal and professional high, but it also came with challenges that would soon overshadow their relationship. The Saathiya actor appeared on Dr. Jai Madaan’s YouTube channel, wherein he acknowledged his past differences with Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan, and offered a brief but gracious comment, “God bless them.” Vivek also described Aishwarya’s husband, Abhishek Bachchan, as “a sweetheart, a really nice person.”

Vivek, who now sees himself as a philanthropist and entrepreneur, shared that he’s grateful to have discovered a greater purpose in life. When asked about overcoming a tough emotional and professional period, and whether it influenced his current path, Vivek said, “Perhaps I would’ve become a superficial person, living a superficial life. Perhaps I would’ve become plastic myself, among people with plastic smiles. If people troll me now, I don’t care. Because I know my purpose in life, I know what is the most important to me.”

Vivek Oberoi agreed that being a celebrity ‘amplifies’ one’s experiences. “Your breakup becomes world news,” he said. When asked about giving advise to people dealing with breakups, Vivek said, “If someone is leaving your life, think of it this way. A child drops his lollipop in the mud, his mother won’t allow him to eat it because it is dirty, would she? Life will give you a new partner. The longer you stay with pain the more it’ll grow,” he said.

Vivek continued, “I’m speaking from personal experience. Sometimes, we go into abusive relationships, relationships where people are using you, people are not valuing you, not respecting you. You go into that relationship because you haven’t identified your self-worth. You think it’s right to have a fatalist attitude, thinking, ‘I don’t care, I can give my life also’. But you have to value yourself.”
