Actor Salman Khan officially entered Rohit Shetty’s cop-verse with Singham Again. The film’s post-credits scene included a quick glimpse of the superstar joining hands with Ajay Devgn in Shetty’s world of Indian police. But, what does this cameo mean for the audience? How is Rohit Shetty going to integrate Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey into his cop-verse? Here’s a possible explanation.

Salman Khan has joined the cop-verse as one of his most iconic characters on-screen, the flamboyant Chulbul Pandey, who’s currently serving the Uttar Pradesh police. The character, in the three Dabangg movies, has not met with any other hero cop from other states so far. This is the first time that Chulbul is seen moving out of his jurisdiction, teaming up with another decorated police officer for a mission.

His quick glimpse at the end of Singham Again sets the stage for Shetty’s next film, tentatively titled Mission Chulbul Singham. Now, how long it will take to create the film isn’t clear yet. However, Singham Again gives a few references to how Shetty might just take this bold integration ahead.

As seen in Singham Again, IPS Bajirao Singham has been anointed as the chief of a special squad. As part of the head of this squad, he has been tasked with the duty of choosing special police officers from all over the country, and bringing them together for a combined mission. This is how he manages to bring Simmba (Ranveer Singh), Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone) and Satya (Tiger Shroff) together and form a special team to beat Danger Lanka alias Zubair (Arjun Kapoor).

During his conversation with the Home Minister (played by Ravi Kishan) in a scene, he is informed that his special squad will have its own rules and assignments, and it will directly report to the home ministry. Singham is also told about not fearing the system and its rules.

In the post-credits scene, Salman simply enters Singham’s cabin and asks him to welcome him in his signature fashion: ‘Swagat nahi karoge humara? (Will you not welcome me?)’. Ajay simply turns and flashes a big smile. While nothing more about this fantastic union has been given away, it is safe to assume that Chulbul Pandey is going to be a member of Singham’s special squad of officers, fighting terrorism and injustice in the country.

It should be noted that the cop-verse includes characters from most of the states and languages in India. While Singham and Simmba represent the Maharashtra belt, Shakti and Satya represent the South. Sooryavanshi is expected to be from the Rajasthan belt, while Chulbul might just represent the UP area in the squad. Not to forget Sidharth Malhotra from the director’s web-series, Indian Police Force, who’s playing a Delhi cop.

The idea is to let every character bring in their exclusivity to the film even when their forces are being combined on one mission.
