‘Inshallah’ with Salman closed, Alia burst into tears, locked herself in the room

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was going to make a film named Inshallah with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. But it got shelved.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was going to make a film with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. Its name was Inshallah. There was a lot of discussion about this project. The film was announced. The sets were ready. But the film was shut down even before the shoot began. Now recently Sanjay told that after the film was shut down, Alia was devastated. She cried a lot and locked herself in the room.

In an interview given to The Hollywood Reporter India, Sanjay Leela Bhansali talked about ‘Inshallah’. He told that Alia Bhatt was most affected by the closure of the film. He said,

“I was doing ‘Inshallah’ with her and suddenly the film got shelved. Alia was devastated, she started crying and locked herself in her room. Then I called her after a week. I called her and told her that she is going to play ‘Gangubai…’. Alia said at that time, ‘Till now I was playing the role of a girl living in Los Angeles, now how will I suddenly play the role of a girl living in Kamathipura?”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali told that Alia was very nervous before playing the character of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Sanjay assured her that she can do this role. Sanjay assured Alia that as a director he will bring her into this character. Sanjay said that later ‘Gangubai…’ started and Alia got completely immersed in her role. Even today Alia sometimes starts talking like the character of ‘Gangubai…’.

Well, ‘Inshallah’ was shelved a few weeks before the shoot began. It was said that there were some creative differences between Salman and Bhansali. The story of the film was about a middle-aged businessman who falls in love with a girl much younger than him. Then in between, the news came that after Salman, Bhansali wants to make this film with Shahrukh.

There was also a rumour that Bhansali offered this film to Shahrukh. He felt that this character would suit Shahrukh. Shahrukh initially showed interest in this subject but then finally refused it. Later this film was shelved. Anyway, Alia, Sanjay Leela Bhansali are working together on a new film. The name of the film is ‘Love and War’. It will also star Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal along with Ranbir Kapoor. It will be released in the year 2026. It will come on the floor by next year. On the other hand, Salman Khan is working on Sajid Nadiadwala’s film ‘Sikander’. Which is to be released on Eid next year.
