Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again received a death threat, this time accompanied by a challenge.

According to Indian media reports, two days after allegedly receiving a threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Salman Khan received another threatening message on Thursday, November 7.

A spokesperson from the Mumbai police revealed on Friday morning that Mumbai’s Traffic Control Room had received the message the previous night, which also named the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Worli Police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.

The threatening message demanded a ransom of INR 5 crore ($6mn) from Salman Khan, while also allegedly threatening a songwriter who had written a song about Lawrence Bishnoi. The gang, according to the message, also threatened to target Salman Khan’s supporters and challenged him to save the songwriter if he could.

The Traffic Police have alerted the Worli Police and provided all relevant details regarding the call. The police are working to trace the person who sent the message.

This is not the first time Salman Khan has faced such threats. On November 5, Mumbai Police had received another threatening message asking the actor to either apologize or payINR 5 crore ($6m) for his safety.

In connection with this earlier threat, a 32-year-old man, identified as Bheka Ram aka Vikram from Rajasthan’s Jalore district, was arrested in Karnataka and handed over to the Maharashtra police on Wednesday.

Police sources revealed that Vikram, a daily wage laborer and self-proclaimed fan of Lawrence Bishnoi, had threatened Salman Khan after watching news on a regional channel. He reportedly made the threat call to the Mumbai Police Control Room.
