Vivek Never Told Me: Suresh Oberoi On Bond With Salman Khan After Son’s Relationship With Aishwarya Rai

Senior actor Suresh Oberoi, father of Vivek Oberoi, has opened up about his bond with superstar Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan. He said that despite his son’s bitter past with the Tiger 3 star, the latter has been cordial with him.

After breaking up with Salman Khan, actress Aishwarya Rai allegedly dated Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… co-star Vivek Oberoi. While Aish never publicly admitted the relationship, Vivek had confirmed the rumours. In a press conference in 2003, he claimed that Salman had threatened him over phone calls. This left Bhai fuming and initiated a bitter feud between the actors. However, despite their tiff, Salman shares a cordial relationship with Suresh Oberoi (Vivek’s father).

Talking about the affair, the Animal actor told Lehren in an interview, “Most of the things I didn’t even know. Vivek never told me. Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) told me. Before Ramu, somebody else told me.”

He revealed that he had warned his son against it after the rumours. “I had made him understand. Samjhaya tha mat karo (I had told him not to do).”

Asked if this affected his relationship with Salman, he said, “I was in relief in Vivek‘s case at that time and now also. Still, we all meet each other very nicely. Whenever Salman Khan meets me, he hides the cigarette and then talks to me as part of respect. I always tell Vivek to touch Salim Ji’s feet. I also respect Salim Bhai. Things happened but my relationships are good enough.”

On the other hand, Suresh’s relationship with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, father-in-law of Aishwarya, is strictly professional. He said that he had attended Big B’s birthday bash but the latter preferred keeping things to himself. “Whenever we meet, we are really nice to each other,” he added.

Coming back to the most-talked-about love triangle, the actors have all moved on. Aishwarya is married to Abhishek Bachchan while Vivek Oberoi got hitched to Priyanka Alva in 2010. Salman, on the other hand, is rumoured to be dating Iulia Vantur.

Suresh Oberoi, basking in the success of his latest film ‘Animal’, revealed that he learned about his son Vivek’s relationship with Aishwarya Rai through Ram Gopal Varma. Oberoi also discussed his industry-wise relationship with Amitabh Bachchan, mentioning that their friendship was with Danny Mukul. He further shared that his relationship with Salman Khan and Salim Khan is still cordial, with Salman showing respect by hiding his cigarette when they meet.

Suresh Oberoi, who is currently basking on the super success of his latest film, ‘Animal’, recently revealed that he didn’t know anything about his son Vivek Oberoi’s relationship with Aishwarya Rai and that he came to know about the same through Ram Gopal Varma.

In an interview with Lehren, Suresh said that he didn’t know most of the things as Vivek never told him about those things. According to him, it was RGV who told him about his son’s relationship with Aishwarya.

Even before the filmmaker, someone else had also told him about them. Suresh shared that he had tried to make his son understand not to do so.

Spilling some beans about his dynamics with Amitabh Bachchan, Suresh added that even though he was never a friend of Big B, he was his co-star. They had a relationship industry wise. His friendship was with Danny Mukul. According to Oberoi, Mr Bachchan doesn’t let people know about most of the things. However, whenever they meet, they are really nice to each other.

The veteran star also talked about his relationship with Salman Khan and Salim Khan. He said that he was in relief in Vivek‘s case at that time and now also. Vivek Oberoi was in a relationship with Aishwarya Rai before they went their separate ways in 2003. The actor had previously revealed that Aishwarya’s ex-boyfriend Salman had threatened him due to their relationship.

Meanwhile, ‘Animal’ starred Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and others. The film has been doing record-breaking business at the box office. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Wanga, it is an action drama film. The movie was first scheduled to release on August 11, 2023; however, owing to the post production work, the movies release was postponed, and it finally made it to the theatres on December 1, 2023.
