Vivek Oberoi recently opened up about his industry colleagues, the downside of fame and getting out of abusive relationships. The actor expressed gratitude for finding a higher purpose in life and not remaining stuck with ‘plastic smiles’. Vivek also commented on Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.

In a recent chat with Dr Jai Madaan’s YouTube channel, Vivek was asked to react to certain names from Bollywood. When it came to Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek said, “He’s a sweetheart, a really nice person.” For Aishwarya and Salman Khan, Vivek had a similar reply, “God bless them.”

Vivek opened up about his entrepreneurial journey and how his personal and professional downfall guided him towards his greater purpose. Vivek said, “Perhaps I would’ve become a superficial person, living a superficial life. Perhaps I would’ve become plastic myself, among people with plastic smiles. If people troll me now, I don’t care. Because I know my purpose in life, I know what is the most important to me.”

Vivek said that being a celebrity makes one’s experiences more intense due to constantly being in the public eye. “Your breakup becomes world news,” he said. Vivek also gave advice to the younger generation about dealing with heartbreak and said, “If someone is leaving your life, think of it this way. A child drops his lollipop in the mud, his mother won’t allow him to eat it because it is dirty, would she? Life will give you a new partner. The longer you stay with the pain, the more it’ll grow.”

Vivek continued, “I’m speaking from personal experience. Sometimes, we go into abusive relationships, relationships where people are using you, people are not valuing you, not respecting you. You go into that relationship because you haven’t identified your self-worth. You think it’s right to have a fatalist attitude, thinking, ‘I don’t care, I can give my life also’. But you have to value yourself.”

In Bollywood, many actors have faced boycotts, with some disappearing from the limelight. However, Vivek Oberoi is one actor who, despite facing such a boycott, managed to rise above it and carve out a successful path.
