Considerably the most anticipated wedding of the year, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant finally tied the knot in a lavish three-day celebration filled with notable guests, including India’s prime minister.

Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in Asia, married Merchant at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, on July 12.

Ambani’s father is the chairman of Reliance Industries, and has an estimated net worth of $117 billion, according to Forbes. Merchant is the daughter of Viren and Shaila Merchant, billionaires and the founders of Encore Healthcare, Tatler.com reported.

The couple’s wedding is estimated to have cost around $132 million to $156 million, however, the exact amount has not been disclosed, CNBC reported on Friday.

Starting off their three-day wedding celebrations, the couple solidified their union with a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on Friday, followed by a blessings ceremony on Saturday, and concluded with a luxurious reception, CNN.com reported.

An estimated 2,000 guests graced a red carpet over the three day. In attendance were celebrities from Bollywood, sports, politics, business, Hollywood, and the tech industry.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the couple’s blessing ceremony on Saturday, CNN.com reported.

Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor attended the wedding and even showed off their dance moves to popular Hindi movie songs. Indian cricketer stars, Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav, were also among the invitees, AP News reported on Sunday.

Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, Nicky Hilton Rothschild and James Rothschild, former U.K. prime ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, stylist Law Roach, designer Prabal Gurung, Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian, former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, and so many others attended the celebration, Vanity Fair reported.

Earlier this year, Ambani-Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations made headlines, starting with the couple’s pre-wedding party in March where global superstar Rihanna performed for more than 30 minutes.

Only two months later, the family set sail on a four-day European cruise on a luxury ship. Despite having a strict no-phone policy, footage was leaked showing rapper Pitbull, and iconic 90s group the Backstreet Boys, performing on the ship, CNN.com reported.

While at a few stops along the way, singer Katy Perry performed for the family in Cannes, and Italian singer Andrea Bocelli also delivered a performance in Portofino on the Italian Riviera, CNN.com reported.

Getting music artists out to perform seems to be the Ambani family speciality, with singer Justin Bieber even performing at another pre-wedding celebration in Mumbai last week, the BBC reported.

But, this isn’t the first Ambani wedding that made the news. In 2018, the industrial tycoon hired Beyonce to perform at his daughter’s wedding celebration.
