Kareena revealed that throughout her career, there were many instances when she was left heartbroken by the consistent failure of her films. During these tough periods, she would often cry herself to sleep, questioning why her efforts at the box office weren’t yielding success. Despite being acknowledged for her talent, the frequent lack of commercial success left her distraught and searching for answers.

Before achieving major success with Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, Kareena faced a string of box office failures. She admitted that this period in her life was mentally exhausting and emotionally draining. The actress mentioned how she was in a state of shock, often thinking about what might have gone wrong with her career choices and why her films were not resonating with the audience. The struggle to balance personal aspirations with the reality of commercial cinema became a constant battle for her.

Kareena made her Bollywood debut in 2000 with the film Refugee, starring alongside Abhishek Bachchan. While the movie earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress, it did not fare well financially. Following Refugee, she faced a series of flops, including Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Yadein, Khushi, and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. These continuous setbacks led her to reflect deeply on her choices, often feeling more known for her failures than for her successes.

In the interview, Kareena also spoke candidly about the challenges of the film industry. She admitted that during the early phase of her career, she was not selective about her films, and this lack of thoughtful decision-making contributed to her struggles. Ultimately, she acknowledged that in Bollywood, box office success holds the greatest significance, and no amount of talent or effort can overshadow the importance of commercial viability.

Looking back on her career, Kareena remarked that the ups and downs she experienced would have been difficult for many to handle. She feels fortunate to have survived the numerous setbacks and continued to thrive in an industry where failure is not easily forgiven.

On a more personal note, Kareena recently had to cancel all her public appearances following the tragic passing of her best friend Malaika Arora’s father. This personal loss has only added to the emotional weight she has carried throughout her journey, both professionally and privately.

As Kareena Kapoor Khan moves forward, her reflections on past failures and the resilience she has shown serve as a reminder of the often unseen struggles behind a glamorous life in the spotlight. Despite the challenges, her determination and perseverance continue to shine through, making her one of Bollywood’s most enduring stars.
