During their conversation, Amitabh Bachchan asked Manu how she felt about her win at the Olympics. In her reply, Manu said that her first reaction was relief that she didn’t give up after the Tokyo Olympics. She recalled being world number two during that tournament, but her performance wasn’t good. So, it was difficult for Manu to motivate herself for the Paris Olympics after it. Manu was quoted as saying:

“It took a lot of courage to keep myself on the same level and motivate myself. It was a relief after my win that I didn’t gave up. But, then again, I had to think about another match.”

Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal in the women’s 10-metre air pistol event and another in the mixed 10-metre air pistol team event. The champion received a grand welcome on her return, and John Abraham also met the young star. They posed for pictures together, where Manu held one of her medals, and John had the other. However, the netizens were unhappy with John touching her medal and criticised him.

Manu Bhaker’s professional career so far

Manu Bhaker hails from Haryana, known as birthplace of some most successful sports stars in the country. She comes from a simple background, as her father is a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy. On the other hand, her mother has been an educationalist. Manu’s passion for shooting was evident from her childhood and she began training for it.

Manu won her first significant silver medal in 2017 at the Asian Junior Championships and next year clinched nine gold medals in the national games. Since then, Manu hasn’t looked back. She is often among the top players in the world rankings and won the gold for India in the women’s 25m pistol game at the 2022 Asian Games before winning two bronze medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
