He was financially drained and was very stressed as, on top of his existing issues, he would get calls from the underworld. They would threaten him over calls, which took a toll on him. It was all the more scary as it was all happening together. Vivek added:

“There was a time when I entered a conflict zone in my career, and because of that, I faced a lot of financial strain. I was very stressed. I would get calls from the underworld. I would get threats. And I’d never experienced anything like this in my life. All of this happened together.”

Vivek Oberoi opened up by saying that the fiasco affected his entire family. His parents were getting threats, and they all were scared for his sister. His family initially thought that these were prank calls, but later, via police investigation, they found out that the threats were very real. Vivek further added:

“It was an emotional response. I was very young. I understood the repercussions and consequences of my actions much later. I was fine with dealing with the consequences of my actions, but I was bothered when my parents were threatened. My dad would pick up the phone, and someone would threaten him; my mother would answer the phone, and someone would threaten her. I was scared for my sister. Initially, we thought that they were prank calls. But later, the police confirmed that the threats were very real.”
