AR Rahman’s First Social Media Post After Separation From Wife Saira Banu Is About Winning An Award

AR Rahman and Saira Banu announced separation much to the shock of many. The music maestro has decided to part ways with his wife of 29 years as Banu issued a statement on November 20, followed by an X (formely Twitter) post by Rahman.

Now, two days after the announcement and the family keeping things private, the musician has written his first social media post. But it isn’t anything about his personal life or marriage. Rather he has given a shoutout to his movie The Goat Life which won the Hollywood Music in Media Award on November 21. The survival drama film was nominated in two categories at the prestigious honours.

Fans react to AR Rahman’s latest achievement

Rahman proudly announced the win by sharing a news report. His fans were quick to send him congratulatory messages. One reaction read, “Congratulations, dear sir! Overwhelmed with joy feels like I’ve won an award myself!” Another one added, “@arrahman’s score for #TheGoatLife is a testament to his genius. Music that breathes life into cinema! 🏆📷 #ARRahman

About AR Rahman, Saira Banu marriage

Rahman and Banu tied the knot in 1995. They have three children – Ameen, Khatija and Raheema. Banu’s lawyer had shared that neither of the two were happy with their divorce decision.

Lawyer Vandana Shah told PTI, “It’s a long marriage and in long marriages and in divorce, no one is happy calling it quits. I can just say that they’re doing okay but no one is happy.”

Stating that the two sides are trying their best to keep things amicable, Shah added, “We are looking at things amicably. We are not looking at any acrimony. They’re both dignified individuals. We propose to keep that. For 29 years, they have led a very dignified life and they’re not changing that just because things may not work out as a fairytale ending as everyone may expect or as they may have expected. No one goes into a marriage expecting a divorce”
