In a recent hearing at the High Court, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor expressed her regret and clarified her intentions regarding her book, “Pregnancy Bible.” The actress emphasized that she never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings, amid ongoing legal challenges related to the book’s title.

The controversy erupted shortly after the book’s release in 2021, with objections raised by certain Christian groups who found the use of the term “Bible” inappropriate. They argued that the word, closely associated with their sacred text, should not be used for personal gain, deeming it disrespectful to their religious sentiments.

In response to the backlash, a petition was filed to halt the book’s sales, leading to legal action against Kapoor. During the court proceedings, her attorney defended the book, asserting that it contains nothing that could be deemed offensive and underscoring Kapoor’s right to freedom of expression as guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.

Kareena further explained that the book chronicles her personal experiences during pregnancy and that the term “Bible” has different connotations in this context. She urged critics not to “judge a book by its cover,” suggesting that a deeper understanding of its contents could dispel the controversy.

Despite her defense, the High Court did not grant immediate relief, postponing the case for further hearings. As the situation unfolds, Kapoor’s legal troubles continue to attract significant media attention.
