KBC 15: Amitabh Bachchan Recalls Working With Aishwarya Rai Bachchan On 'Kajra Re', "Gaane Me Bahu Thi"

Tying the knot with Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) became Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law. But, before that, she is his co-star. The duo has worked together in multiple movies with Mohabbatein being the first. Later on, they went on to work together in Hum Kisise Kum Nahi, Khakee, Kyun! Ho Gaya Na…, Bunty Aur Babli and Sarkar Raj. The audience enjoyed the mixed performance of Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya in Bunty Aur Babli’s ‘Kajra Re…’ and the song’s performance remains one of the best of the Bachchans together. However, did you know, Amitabh felt bad after working with Aishwarya?

Though it sounds strange, the Paa actor himself revealed about the same during an old interview.

Before Aish tied the knot with Abhishek, she worked with Big B in Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… in 2004. While the movie was led by Aish and Vivek Oberoi, the Sholay actor had a cameo in the movie. He played Aish’s uncle in the flick and also ran an orphanage.

Talking about his cameo as Aish’s uncle, the Zanjeer actor said that he ‘felt really bad.’

During the interview with Rediff, Big B said, “It is just a cameo! I play a man in charge of an orphanage. I also play Aishwarya’s uncle. I felt so bad about it. One thing I liked about my role was it gave me a chance to interact with kids. After Mr Natwarlal, this is the first time I get to do that. So playing Ms Rai’s uncle became bearable.”

However, talking about Aish, “Ah, she’s exceptionally beautiful. According to me and Jaya, she looks wonderful in KHGN. I feel she needs to do more mature subjects now.”

Further, talking about Vivek, the Sholay actor said, “He’s fine. We were together in Coorg for a 20-day schedule. That was it. My work was over.”

Reportedly, after the break-up with Salman Khan, Aish started dating Vivek and their love blossomed on the set of Kyun! Ho Gaya Na. However, after splitting with Vivek, she and Abhishek came closer. They tied the knot in 2007. For the last couple of months, rumours have been doing rounds that the couple is headed for a separation. However, none of the family members have responded to the swirling rumours.
