Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan divorce rumours: When Shweta Bachchan gave the actress a piece of marriage advice, “…she doesn’t need it”

An old interview of Shweta Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan has been going viral, wherein they share marriage advice with Aishwarya Rai.

The rumours of trouble in paradise for Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have been doing rounds for quite some time now. While the rumours are still rife with no confirmation or denial from the couple, an older video of Jr Bachchan’s sister Shweta Bachchan and mother Jaya Bachchan has been going viral on the internet. The clip happens to be from one of the episodes of Koffee with Karan, where the mother duo appeared on the talk show along with Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol. Jaya and Shweta were asked about what marriage advice they would give Miss World 1994.

The mother-daughter duo appeared on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan during the second season, around 2008. The host asked the two about one piece of wedding advice they would give Aishwarya.


In the clip from the episode shared on Reddit, Shweta said, “She is perfect, I don’t think we need to give her anything.” Jaya interjected saying, “She should be as loving and as dignified as she is.”

Shweta then added, “And she has immense patience which is going to take her really face. She is fine, she doesn’t need it (advice).”

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot and married in 2007. The two were friends for a few years before getting married. They even starred together in films such as Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003).

It is believed that their romance blossomed on the sets of Umrao Jaan in 2005-2006 and progressed while they worked together on Dhoom 2 and Guru. They tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a grand yet intimate ceremony. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have since been married for 17 years and have a daughter, Aaradhya.
